Its no secret that the Federal Government has, through Free Trade Agreements arranged the sale of oil/minerals/gas/uranium to foreign corporations before its extracted from the ground.Now, the previous Howard Government in its arrogant stance on Aboriginal affairs, couldnt sway the Native people to hand over the land for mining to seal the deal with the Corporations to deliver the goods,ie gold,oil,minerals,gas,rare earth materials and uranium.So,around May/June 2007 the Howard Government realised through the polls that there was a very good chance that they might not survive the next election.What better excuse to use against our Native bretheren that they are abusing their children,dealing/using drugs and supplying pornographic material to children and anything else they can dream up to paint a very bleak picture and that they need to abolish the land entry permit system and arrange legislation that the land will be taken(compulsary aquisition) and held in trust to the Government until the moment that the Government deems fit to return it.I have a problem with all of this,not just the Aborigines and what they lose but the damage to the  environment so that foreign countries can get rich on our behalf,have you seen the price of fuel lately and do you remember how the East Timorese missed out on the proceeds of the Bayu Unden?To date, Governments(even Australia) that oversee the process of uranium will never give a 100% guarantee that we are safe from its harmful existance and even more so, its waste.ALL Australians must unite against this form of tyranny for the sake of this country and its future before its too late.
