How to Contribute to Indymedia, Get in Touch or Join the Collective
There are three ways you can get involved in your local indymedia.
Firstly, as an anonymous contributor.
Anyone can post an article that complies with the editorial guidlines. So it's best to read our editorial policy before you start, to give your article the best chance of survival. If you prefer not to remain anonymous, you will need to sign your article.
Secondly, as a registered account holder.
All your articles will be automatically attributed to your registered user name, unless you amend the "posted by" box. Hidden stories and comments become visible. You're also able to edit your own stuff.
Thirdly, as a collective member.
The collective are responsible for;
a) enforcing our editorial policy through debate (usually via our email list) until a consensis is reached, as to whether articles should be hidden or deleted.
b) Determining front page news and feature articles.
c) Admitting new members to the collective.
If you have a passionate interest in the affairs of The Top End (it helps to live nearby, though not essential), and you're interested in joining the collective, send an email introducing yourself to imc-arafura@lists.indymedia.org **
and your request for membership will be discussed by the existing collective until a unanimous consensis decision is reached. During which time, if it be possible, a face to face meating should be undertaken at one of our public meatings,(always advertised on our front page). Once membership is approved, this will be recorded in the minutes of the following meating.
**WARNING.
Our email list is public domain. Anything you
say on the list becomes public knowledge. If you prefer more discretion
in introducing yourself, please use the above email list simply to
contact us to arrange a meeting.
